'Eternals' is the highest rated movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Rotten Tomatoes

After dividing the critics and suffering "review bombing" on IMDB, 'Eternals' is now also the movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but rated on Rotten Tomatoes. At the time of writing this article, the film directed by ChloƩ Zhao had 60% positive reviews, which places it below 'Thor: The Dark World' that until now, and with 66%, was the one it had the lowest rating of the franchise.

'Eternals' has not even been released in theaters yet and does not reach commercial theaters until November 5 (the 3 in some European countries), so when you see it more critically the numbers could change, although it does not seem that is going to improve things a lot. Starring Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington, and Kumail Nanjiani among others, 'Eternals' tells the story of a race of immortal beings, the Eternals, who have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years. Created by entities called Celestials, they are tasked with reuniting and fighting together against a terrible threat looming over the planet: evil ones, the Deviants.

The almost spoiler

Probably thanks to the fact that it doesn't have Tom Holland in its cast (just kidding), 'Eternals' is going to make it to theaters relatively spoiler-free, although that was almost spoiled by Salma Hayek at Comic-Con 2019. As revealed In 'The Graham Norton Show', during the SDCC of that year the actress began to ask Zhao questions out loud, very loud, and the director of 'Nomadland' had to remind her that when it comes to Marvel, even the walls have ears: "He told me 'You have to be very careful. Everyone knows that we are talking about the new Marvel movie, they could be [listening] through the walls'.

He was serious." Furthermore, Hayek could not even tell his friends that he had signed for the film, not even Samuel L. Jackson with whom he shared filming in 'Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard': "It was terrible, because when I was making that film I had still sworn to keep the secret, and nobody knew it. And everyone was talking about their Marvel stuff, and Ryan Reynolds was asking Jackson things because now Deadpool is going to be in the MCU, "Hayek told ComicBook.
